Kelowna
Area spreads from Vernon at the north side to Summerland and Pentincton
on the south, right along the Okanagan Lake. The lake begins in
Vernon and goes all the way down to Penticton. There are few lakes
parallel to the Okanagan, but they are smaller. Kelowna Area is
more dense populated then the north part. The fruit orchards start
in Vernon, and with some breaks, they run through Kelowna to the
south of the Valley. The microclimate of the Valley creates some
ideal environment for growing apples, pears, plums, apricots, peaches
and cherries. By Canadian standards, that is a dry area, but the
lakes supplies the irrigation water.
