There
is alternative road from Banff to Lake Louise, parallel to Trans
Canada Highway. The road is called Bow Valley Parkway. It is
slower, more curvy but surprisingly even more picturesque then
the Trans Canada Highway. In the middle between Banff and Lake
Louise there is Castle Mountain, the mountain and the village.
Between Bow Valley Parkway and Trans Canada Highway there is
enough room for the Bow River and the Canadian Pacific railroad.
Take the Bow Valley Parkway and you will have access to Johnson
Canyon, mysterious and beautiful place in the Rockies. On the
other side of the Highway, there is the Moraine Lake. From Castle
Mountain you can turn south to Kootenay, British Columbia or
continue to Lake Louise.
