Canmore Area is the Gate to the Banff National Park. Frankly speaking it is not yet a Park, but all the amenities are already in place. Beautiful residential areas, many new motels, hotels, restaurants and relax atmosphere makes this a winning destination. One can park at the Bow River and escape at the mountains. Short climb on the Upper Ridge and you are in the world of the Rockies. Spry Lakes, many walking trails, picnic and camping areas as well as wildlife can be enjoyed virtually in solitude. The area is so vast, one is aware of very few people. From Spry Lakes, you can drive straight to Kananaskis Provincial Park, and then back to Calgary. From Canmore, it is an easy trip to Banff, Lake Louise or Kootenay in British Columbia.
