Red Deer area is part of Alberta Central, called also Heartland. Located between the Foothills and Highway No 2 is Red Deer area rich not only in natural resources, but also in lakes, sandy beaches, forests, rolling hills and communities. Red Deer area provides rich variety of recreation activities, but can also give you a glimpse of traditional and modern life on the Prairies. You are welcome to many historical Towns and communities, numerous museums and heritage facilities. If you like sun and water, spend a day or two in Sylvan Lake, relax on the beach, and take a tour along the lake. If you change your mind, you can always go to the mountains, by taking Highway 11 west from Red Deer.
