The Bragg Creek Area is the recreational area directly attached to the City of Calgary. Half an hour driving from Calgary takes you into wilderness beyond your imagination. There are two Provincial Parks in the Bragg Creek Area, the Bragg Creek Provincial Park and the Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park. Many recreation and picnic areas are located along the Road 66, starting from Allan Pond picnic area, going through Elbow Falls up to the end of the road. You will find here many hiking trials of different degrees of challenge. During the winter there is a downhill facility at Wintergreen Area and Cross Country tracks in various locations.
