Crowsnest
Area is the eastern part of the Elk Valley, the coal and minerals
Eldorado of Western Canada. The coal exploration cease to exist
in the Crownsnest Area but the traces are still here. In every
Town there is mining museum and coal mining equipment is on exhibition
in
many places,
stating the Heritage of this region. Beside coal and minerals
this region is rich in natural beauty. Picturesque lakes, water
falls, mountains and valleys are making Crownsnest
Pass area well worth a visit. This is also one of the two ways
to reach Kootenay and Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. You
will be driving a bit longer then by taking the Trans Canada
Highway, but this journey is well worth your time.
